"The Commission for Women of Bossier City Mentoring Program has been one of the best activities in which our senior girls have been involved. Year after year, the girls tell me how much they enjoy the events and how much they have learned. Most of them were totally unfamiliar with the history of Bossier City as well as with the inner workings of a city. They feel much more confident after completing the program in which they participate in civic activities, politics, and government. They learn the importance of giving back to their community and, I believe, will continue to do so as adults. They see the value of committed adults mentoring young people and the benefits of this type of relationship on the future of these young women.
